Meghan Markle firma con Disney para grabar voz en "off" tras anunciar alejamiento de la realeza

La duquesa de Sussex y el Príncipe Harry mostraron abiertamente, la semana pasada, sus intenciones de independizarse económicamente de la corona británica. Sin embargo, el acuerdo de la ex actriz con la cadena iría únicamente en beneficio de una fundación.

Luego del anuncio de los duques de Sussex, sobre independizarse económicamente de la corona británica y de desligarse de sus obligaciones como representantes de la familia real, las controversias en torno al núcleo británico no han quedado desapercibidas.

Esta semana, Meghan Markle, firmó un contrato con la compañía estadounidense, Disney, para grabar la voz en "off" de un proyecto, del cual aún no se entregan detalles.

Por este proyecyo, la firma hará una donación a una organización que protege elefantes, llamada ''Elephants Without Borders'' , según afirmó el diario británico ''The Times''.

Esta organización sin fines de lucro, tiene como misión la conservación de la vida silvestre y los recursos naturales. Tal y como indica su web, "nos esforzamos por alentar a la humanidad a vivir en armonía con la vida silvestre y el mundo natural".

El vínculo de la pareja real con dicha organización, se potenció cuando en septiembre del año pasado, visitaron Botswana, un país al sur de África, para reunirse con el doctor y fundador de la organización Mike Chase, conociendo en primera persona su función, experiencia que la duquesa compartió en sus redes sociales.

They are ‘environmental engineers,’ a key-stone umbrella species, and the fight to save them is in effect, a fight to save entire ecosystems and all wildlife. Today elephants are facing many challenges; habitat loss and competition for resources creates conflict with humans, climate change and fires destroy much needed resources and poaching for the demand of ivory makes elephants bigger targets than ever. African elephants are especially prone to human-wildlife conflict because of their large home ranges. Finding, preserving and creating elephant corridors is therefore of great importance in helping to maintain habitats suitable for movement and minimising human-elephant conflict. Pero la decisión de independizarse no fue del todo agradable para el Palacio de Buckingham, residencia oficial de la Reina Isabel II, puesto que rompen con la tradición y derechos heredables que durante décadas ha poseído la realeza británica.

“Entendemos su deseo de adoptar un nuevo enfoque, pero son asuntos complicados que requerirán tiempo para ser manejados”, afirmó un portavoz desde la corona real, según consigó la BBC.
